Oven baked plaice with a parmesan crust

 Serves: 2 people


  • 4 fillets of plaice
  • 75g parmesan cheese
  • 75g breadcrumbs
  • 25g parsley
  • 50g butter
  • Tartar sauce (Colemans is a good option or else make your own Tartar sauce )


  1. Place the fillets on an oven tray lined with tin foil (skin side down) and season them. 
  2. Chop up the parsley leaves and mix in with  the parmesan, breadcrumbs, melted butter and one table spoon of tartar sauce.
  3. Spread the crumb mixture over the fish fillets, drizzle with a little more melted butter and then place the baking tray on a high shelf in the oven for 7–8 minutes at 200° Celsius ( gas mark 6), or until the crumbs have turned a golden brown. 

SERVE:  with lemon wedges to squeeze over, and the tartare sauce.
